Frequently asked questions
What is a Tabata timer?
A timer for the Tabata protocol: 20 seconds of all-out effort followed by 10 seconds of rest, repeated 8 times (4 minutes total). The timer announces each phase so you can focus on the exercise; you can also adjust the work, rest and cycle counts.
What is the difference between the interval timer and the Tabata timer?
Tabata is a fixed-style work/rest cycle with configurable durations, while the interval timer lets you build a custom sequence of timed segments with their own labels — useful for circuit training, HIIT variations or timed practice drills.
Will the alarm go off if my computer is asleep or the tab is closed?
No. The timers and alarms run in the browser tab, so the tab needs to stay open and the device awake. For alarms that must wake you up, a phone or hardware alarm is more reliable.
How accurate is the stopwatch?
It displays elapsed time down to fractions of a second and is accurate for everyday timing — workouts, cooking, speedruns, presentations. Browsers can slightly throttle background tabs, so keep the tab visible for the best precision.
