100% private: sharpening happens entirely in your browser using the canvas API. Your images never leave your device — nothing is uploaded to any server.
Sharpen a soft or slightly blurry image using an unsharp mask with an adjustable strength slider. It enhances edges and fine detail in images that are a little soft — it cannot recover detail from photos that are genuinely out of focus or motion-blurred. Processing happens in your browser.
Frequently asked questions
Can this fix a blurry photo?
It depends on the blur. Sharpening works well on images that are slightly soft — from resizing, compression or mild camera softness. It cannot restore detail that was never captured, so badly out-of-focus or motion-blurred photos will not become sharp.
What does the strength slider do?
It controls how strongly edges are enhanced. Low values give a subtle, natural boost; high values make edges pop but can introduce halos and amplify noise. Start low and increase until it looks crisp without artefacts.
What is an unsharp mask?
It is the standard sharpening technique used by photo editors: a blurred copy of the image is compared with the original to find edges, and the contrast along those edges is boosted. Despite the name, it sharpens.
