How do I cut an MP3 file?
Upload the file, drag the two sliders on the waveform to mark the section you want, and use preview to check it sounds right. Then export — copy mode saves the selection almost instantly in the original format and quality.
Does trimming audio lose quality?
Not in copy mode: the selected section is copied out without re-encoding, so the audio data is identical to the original. Only if you choose to re-encode to MP3 is the audio compressed again — and exporting to WAV is lossless.
Can I make a ringtone with this?
Yes. Trim your song down to the section you want — ringtones are typically under 30 seconds — and export it as MP3. You can then transfer it to your phone and set it as a ringtone in your phone’s sound settings.
Why does the cut in copy mode land slightly off my selection?
Copy mode cuts on frame boundaries in the audio stream, so the edit can shift by a tiny fraction of a second. It is rarely noticeable, but if you need a precise cut, export with re-encoding instead.
